Alemaratalyoum lined up at Chepstow yesterday to contest a thirteen runner 1m handicap. Both of his previous wins had come at 7f but we felt that the mile trip would cause him no issues as long as he relaxed in the early stages of the race.
The son of Lope De Vega travelled well in the early part of the race but he did not over race and this was encouraging given he had compromised his chances of winning when last seen at Leicester. He continued to catch the eye as the field entered the final two furlongs and he was asked to go and win his race just before the furlong pole. The response was not instantaneous but he started to wear down the long time leader House Of Commons and he eventually went away from him in the final 100 yards to win by just over a length.
It has been a fruitful 2017 for Alemaratalyoum and he has now won three times and been in the first four on a further four occasions. The handicapper will move him up to a career high mark after this performance and he will having a rating around 78. He enjoyed the soft ground and as he relaxed in the early stages of the race he was able to see out the 1m trip well.
Congratulations to Mr Mohammed Jaber who is a big supporter of the stable and we are delighted Alemaratalyoum has won again for you. Well done to everyone at La Grange, the horses are in sparkling form currently and this was our forty first winner of the season.
