Monday was a good day for La Grange Stables with two winners from two runners at different meetings!
Red Avenger was running for the second time in his career in a 7f maiden at Warwick ridden by Joe Fanning. He came out of the stalls, jumping right and showing a little greenness but he was soon travelling strongly behind the leaders. He made his challenge with a furlong to go and soon had the better of the Godolphin favourite, finishing in front by a length and a quarter. His owner, Mr Arculli, has had a good week with Red Runaway also winning his second start on Wednesday.
Narcissist, owned by The Hon Earl Macke, was given a patient ride by Paul Mulrennan at Ripon in the mile and a quarter handicap. He tracked the leading pair staying on the rail throughout the race and made his challenge in the final furlong. He obviously enjoyed the rain-softened ground and stayed on well to win readily.
